About the exhibition
Reset Materials positions itself in the space between art and architecture, yet retains a clear agenda towards that of sustainability – delivered through materials and processes that range from the forgotten to the cutting-edge.

The experimental and work-in-progress nature of the exhibition is owing to the curatorial approach, (external curator/architect Chrissie Muhr, in collaboration between Copenhagen Contemporary and the Danish Association of Architects), which brought together 10 interdisciplinary teams made up of architects, artists and manufacturers/producers. The working groups took a range of approaches to materials, from re-use of existing and harvesting of natural resources, to the development of new processes.

The resulting space borders on art-exhibition aesthetic, presenting large-scale material assemblages, each thoughtfully displayed using simple, everyday building materials. The element of novelty and scale makes the content hard to dismiss, raising curiosity and further discussion on the pertinent topic of sustainable architecture.
